In honor of such a momentous occasion, we are thrilled to share some insight into the flaky, buttery pastry known as: The Croissant. According to Wikipedia A croissant (/krəˈsɒnt/ or /ˈkrwʌsɒŋ/; French pronunciation: [kʁwa.sɑ̃] ( )) is a buttery, flaky, viennoiserie or Vienna-style pastry named for its well-known crescent shape. Croissants and other viennoiserie are made of a layered yeast-leavened dough. The dough is layered with butter, rolled and folded several times in succession, then rolled into a sheet, in a technique called laminating. The process results in a layered, flaky texture, similar to a puff pastry. We can only do the Croissant justice (by placing it on a pedestal of honor!) through our featured menu items at breakfast and lunch! Indulge in our hearty oatmeal bar with all the fixins’ in our January February Winter Warmer Special which includes yummy croissants. Or try one of our continental breakfasts with a pastry basket. Oui oui! But of course! Croissants are a part of our lovely baskets of freshly baked goodies.
